We also swam along the rocks on the left side of the pier (as you face the water) and discovered more interesting finds like a family of squid, school of blue tang, and a bait ball. Look closely in between all the coral because you will likely find small sea creatures like decorator crabs, seahorses, and brittle stars. What is amazing is all the concrete pylons are coated with beautiful brightly-colored red, orange, and yellow coral and sponges. It was a little eery at first because it is dark underneath, but you get accustomed to it pretty quickly. Just follow the pier and weave in and out between the pylons. Ok, so my husband and I have snorkeled all over … Maldives, Bora Bora, Belize, Australia, etc, and I have to say Frederiksted Pier was one of the most unique snorkeling sites we have encountered.Įntry can be a little tricky, but once you are in the water the snorkeling is straightforward.
